Hashkey has joined the Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s (DTCC) Digital Assets Advisory Services Industry Working Group as the first Asian digital asset service provider. This move positions Hashkey alongside over 100 global financial institutions and asset managers in defining how tokenized assets are issued, settled, and safeguarded at an institutional scale.
Other notable participants include JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Nasdaq, and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). DTCC, a core post-trade infrastructure provider in traditional financial markets, aims to launch access to tokenized securities in October, concurrent with the working group’s efforts.
With a custodian of $114 trillion in liquid assets, including stocks and exchange-traded funds, DTCC’s pilot project received approval from the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in December through a "no action" letter. SEC Chairman Paul Atkins expressed optimism about this development, suggesting that an innovation exemption will facilitate the transition to onchain market operations.
