Kazakhstan’s Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) court has ordered curbs on Coinbase, BingX, Huobi Global (HTX), BitMart, LBank, WEEX (later removed due to operator's action), and four other crypto platforms. The move follows the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA)'s lawsuit against operators for offering digital-asset services without authorization.

The injunctions prohibit these platforms from providing digital-asset services without licenses and restrict access to app stores in Kazakhstan. AFSA CEO Evgeniya Bogdanova stated:

“This court decision is the result of extensive efforts by AFSA to address unlicensed crypto platforms... offering services without the required permission.”

Nine other platforms voluntarily restricted app access in response to AFSA’s warnings in 2025. AFSA withdrew its claims against them, while the injunctions will be enforced against the six named in the court order.

Background:

  • 2023: Kazakhstan's Financial Monitoring Agency blocked access to nearly 1,000 crypto exchanges serving its citizens without proper registration.
  • Present: The country continues to tighten regulations on cryptocurrency, with recent actions targeting unlicensed platforms.
