Ledger, a leading hardware wallet manufacturer, has confirmed an unauthorized hardware implant in one of its user's devices. The incident appears to be isolated to a single reseller in Southeast Asia. According to an investigation by Specter, potential losses across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron may exceed $86 million.
Ledger is reaching out to affected users and encourages anyone with information to contact its bounty program at [email protected]. As a precaution, the reseller CryptoBilis has ceased sales of all hardware wallets until the investigation is complete.

Ledger recommends users who purchased devices from this reseller to not initiate setup if they haven't already. If a user has already set up their Ledger device, they should consider moving assets to a new Ledger signer with a new seed.
Cointelegraph reported that CryptoBilis was an authorized Ledger reseller in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Ledger has not yet disclosed the number of affected customers or the value of reported losses.
In a statement, Ledger emphasized that its "infrastructure, systems, and services were not compromised" and that the investigation is ongoing. For support or questions, users can contact Ledger customer support through official channels at http://support.ledger.com.
