Ledger, a prominent hardware wallet maker, has confirmed an unauthorized hardware implant in one of its user's devices. The incident, which appears isolated to a single reseller in Southeast Asia, may result in losses exceeding $86 million across Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Tron, according to initial estimates.

In a post on X, Ledger revealed that it is investigating these losses and reaching out to affected users. The company has also requested information from anyone with relevant details regarding the investigation through its bounty program at [email protected].
As a precautionary measure, the reseller CryptoBilis has temporarily ceased the sale of all hardware wallets while the investigation is ongoing. Ledger is actively communicating with CryptoBilis to determine the next steps.
