QuFi Network has unveiled a revolutionary post-quantum cryptography platform that verifies digital asset transactions independently of existing blockchain settlement networks.
The platform distinguishes between verification and settlement by employing a decentralized network of nodes to validate transactions using post-quantum cryptography before settling them on current blockchain networks.
They have also launched uBTC, a groundbreaking proof-of-concept applying this system to Bitcoin (BTC) currently operating on Bitcoin Testnet4. The uBTC system verifies BTC collateral and generates cryptographic proofs governing value transfer between settlement environments, ultimately settling as standard Bitcoin transactions.
This platform utilizes three robust post-quantum cryptographic standards: ML-DSA-65, SLH-DSA, and ML-KEM-1024 for digital signatures and secure key exchange.
QuFi emphasizes that this external verification layer avoids the added computational demands often associated with adopting larger post-quantum signatures directly on individual blockchains.

This launch comes amidst a series of recent initiatives to prepare blockchain networks for potential quantum computing threats.
In August, StarkWare tested a quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction on mainnet without requiring a fork, but it was computationally intensive and expensive.
Additionally:
- Banks and regulators across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia joined a pilot testing post-quantum wallets and onchain transfers using ML-DSA-65.
- The Ethereum Foundation removed Poseidon hash function from its post-quantum architecture in favor of established alternatives like SHA or BLAKE.
- Bitcoin developers are exploring protocol-level defenses, including Blockstream’s SHRINCS proposal for smaller, more efficient quantum-resistant signatures. However, SHRINCS has trade-offs involving stateful signatures and potential user failure modes.
