Published: Oct 26, 2026
The artificial intelligence company disclosed more than $16 billion in revenue and an $80 billion net loss for the first half of 2026. Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an initial public offering (IPO) on Nasdaq, indicating a potential IPO date in mid-November.
The company, founded in 2021 by ex-OpenAI executives, could raise up to $100 billion for its IPO, valuing it at $2 trillion. OpenAI has previously postponed its IPO plans, with CEO Sam Altman citing 2026 as an "ill-advised moment" for such a move.
Anthropic reports holding over $112 billion in cash and cash equivalents and $19 billion in short-term investments as of June 30.
