Article Details:
Bitcoin ETFs broke a two-week outflow streak, recording $301 million in net inflows last week, despite heavy withdrawals late in the week. The previous week, they lost approximately $228 million, and $680 million the week before, according to Farside Investors data.
Between Monday and Wednesday, Bitcoin ETFs drew in around $1.08 billion as Bitcoin reached a weekly high of $84,777 on Wednesday. However, investors withdrew about $774 million on Thursday and Friday as BTC dropped back towards $80,000.
A market maker's research found that ETF investors tend to sell Bitcoin during declines, with seven out of eight Bitcoin sell-offs of at least 15% since the launch of US spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 resulting in net outflows.
At the time of publication, Bitcoin was trading at $80,025, down around 3.3% over the past seven days. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index dipped to a "Neutral" reading of 50, down from "Greed" at 59 a week earlier.
