Crypto could outperform AI stocks: Wall Street veteran Jordi Visser believes so, as he expands his investment portfolio beyond Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana.

Former Morgan Stanley and Weiss executive Jordi Visser argues that Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents are driving demand for cryptocurrencies, making them potentially more lucrative than AI stocks. He notes that while explosive gains in AI stocks are becoming less frequent, AI's impact on crypto is just beginning.

“Without AI, I don’t think crypto would be going through this bull market,” says Visser.

Investment Strategy:

Visser has diversified his holdings to include a broader range of tokens, moving beyond the traditional trio of Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana. He views AI agents as the future of crypto, enabling users to instruct software to execute trades and financial transactions autonomously.

“AI agents are effectively the same as the App Store or the smartphone for crypto,” he explains.

AI's Impact and Concerns:

Visser acknowledges the potential of AI to revolutionize crypto but expresses caution regarding a possible AI downturn. He notes that a severe AI market correction could negatively affect equity markets.

“I don’t think that would end the bull market, but I definitely think it would retest the lows that we just saw,” he adds.

He also mentions that the AI "fireworks show" has subsided, as hedge funds and retail investors have already heavily invested in the AI trade. As a result, he reduced his exposure to Micron in May, attributing the move to the crowded AI trade.
