Luxor Raises $16M from CMT Digital Amid AI-Bitcoin Miner Convergence
Luxor Technology, a full-stack compute company, has raised $16 million in a strategic round led by CMT Digital, with participation from Canaan, MicroBT, Halo, Steelhead, and angel investors. The company aims to utilize the funds for:
- Scaling its existing AI infrastructure business
- Expanding GPU sourcing services as global chip supply chains face constraints
- Growing its compute derivatives trading capabilities
- Hiring additional staff
Luxor serves Bitcoin miners like Canaan and TeraWulf, and has expanded into AI hardware sourcing for the AI computing market. The investment comes as compute markets witness convergence between Bitcoin miners and AI firms.
"Compute markets are converging: the same miners, power sites and capital that served digital mining are now powering AI," said Nick Hansen, co-founder and CEO of Luxor.
In September, Luxor launched Luxor AI, expanding its services into the AI and high-performance computing market.
Previous Funding Rounds:
- June 2021: Luxor raised $5 million in Series A funding from NYDIG, among others.
